Farmers Market

Treat Others...

So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

Two things to note: 1) Sorry there was no Farmers Market post on Friday! 2) This post is mostly to do with Christians interactions with unbelievers, but the principles can be generally applied.

How do we treat others?

1. All mankind has been created in the image of God.

No matter what someone likes, what they participate in, or how they treat you, mankind has been made imago Dei. We are God's image bearers. So, you do have something in common with them. And you do have a requirement to treat them with respect.

2. All have sinned and fall short...

If you're being challenged by the ugly head of sin in someone else's life, be careful. First, pray. Pray that you would not be proud, but would instead be gentle and wise. Then, remember that, while some sins are more obvious in people's lives, you sin too. You, in fact, were dead in your sins until God mercifully saved you and lent you His grace. Extend that grace to others. Give them what they don't deserve.

3. Remember your calling.

We are called to be stewards in God's kingdom. We are representatives of the Gospel. And we should not be the steward who hides his gift and does nothing with it. We need to take what we have been given - the greatest gift- and be productive with it. Sharing it and living it. We are to be eagerly working for God's kingdom.
And then, if we are working for Him, He will appear and say "Well done, good and faithful servant."
Live like that.
